AEGUS is Transforming...
New and innovative ideas are currently underway in our quest to continue supporting students, parents , and educators.
We hope you will also continue to support our efforts through your yearly membership and to stay tuned for more updates in the near future!
We are an organization of professionals, parents and others concerned for the success of individuals whose school performance is not commensurate with their exceptional intellectual and creative abilities. While our primary focus is in support of these students within the learning environment, we know that the importance of creating successful experiences in this context are pivotal to the overall success and satisfaction of the full lifespan of these individuals. We have experienced the frustration which grows out of the difficulty to help these individuals understand and appreciate their abilities, develop their talents, and reach their potential later in life.
AEGUS serves as an advocacy group on behalf of gifted underachieving students. AEGUS recognizes that these students can be found in populations regardless of racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic backgrounds; and areas of special learning, physical or emotional needs. The major purpose of this organization is to focus attention on gifted learners whose potential may be unrecognized, undeveloped, or not nurtured.

AEGUS provides a forum for ideas and strategies aimed at helping gifted underachieving students reach their potential. Our goals are:
To develop an awareness of the existence of gifted underachieving students to the general public, educators, families, and policymakers who affect change on behalf of young people.
To create opportunities for an exchange of ideas among professionals, parents, and students concerned with the issue of underachievement.
To establish a clearinghouse for relevant research, existing programs, successful strategies, and available resources.
